IHU company visit at the Storage & Distribution (Logistics) Centre of Diamantis MASOUTIS S.A.

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Unit of IHU organised a company visit at the Storage & Distribution (Logistics) Centre of Diamantis Masoutis S.A. in Kavalari, Thessaloniki.

Diamantis Masoutis S.A., a leader in the retail sector, possesses the largest network of stores in Northern Greece. Students had the chance to visit the spacious and state-of-the-art, fully roboticized Logistics Centre, representing an investment of €50.000.000, which meets many modern specifications. Its premises cover a total area of approximately €60.000m² and are designed in such a way so as to ensure optimum energy efficiency and protection of the environment.

Students had the opportunity to get an insight into one of the largest and most up-to-date warehouse and distribution centres in Greece and the Balkans, to see: 

  • the reliable automated E-TOW with RFID technology, a real innovation in Greece
  • the broad implementation of recycling within the biological treatment unit  and
  • to find out more about the marketing strategy of the company.

Innovation & Daring: Start-ups, Ideas into Action

The International Hellenic University and the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Unit, in the context of IHU Week 2014, organised an event titled "Innovation & Daring: Start-ups, Ideas into Action'', on Thursday, 13th March 2014, in the University Auditorium from 16.00-17.30.

The International Hellenic University launched this year’s Ennovation Competition in Northern Greece. "Ennovation" is an international student competition on Digital Entrepreneurship, Innovation & e-Business, jointly organised by the Athens University of Economics and Business (ELTRUN), the International Hellenic University and the University of Nicosia.

SEVE Next Generation…let’s talk interactive about business
Christos Papanikolaou, Owner and CEO of OPTO HELLAS

On November 7th 2013 students and alumni of the International Hellenic Univeristy will have the opportunity to attend a very interesting seminar on funding opportunities for start-ups.

The seminar will be delivered by Mr. Christos Papanikolaou, Owner and CEO of Opto Hellas, Executive Member of the B.o.D. of the Greek International Business Association (SEVE) and Head of SEVE Next Generation (Sevenagers).

Mr. Papanikolaou will present to the students a new initiative by SEVE which invites young people to submit business ideas for new ventures, products and services to be examined, evaluated and financed by SEVE.

Business Plan Development and Innovation Management

Within the framework of Ennovation 2013 student competition, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the International Hellenic University organises a workshop in Thessaloniki on 03/06/13 at 13:00 to 16:00, to enhance participants’ skills in preparing their business plan. Members of KEMEL (Managers Volunteer Centre of Greece) and entrepreneurs will present the fundamentals of writing a business plan and answer any questions you might have.

IHU company visit at AGRITEX Energy S.A.

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Unit of IHU organised a company visit at AGRITEX Energy S.A., an agricultural high-tech company, with one of the most contemporary Glass Greenhouses of Europe, which utilises the technology of electrical & thermal energy co-production from natural gas.

Students had the opportunity to see: 

  • the innovative methods of cultivation of the first branded Greek tomato "Lucia"
  • the environmentally friendly heating methods and
  • to find out more about the marketing strategy of the company.

Microsoft Hellas CEO guest Lecture at IHU

The IHU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit is pleased to announce a guest lecture by P. Antonakou, CEO Microsoft Hellas on Innovation and Entrepreneurship on Wednesday, 22nd of May 2013, at Room A1, 16:00 -17:00.

The lecture is part of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship elective course but other students are also welcome to attend.
